Tackle was the Panthers biggest need heading into the draft, not sure why anyone thought otherwise.
All due respect but signing a guy for one year, $4M did not solve their LT program.
Drafting the guy who many think is the best T in the draft solves it for 2026 & beyond.

I’m a bit confused by the reaction to the Freeling pick.
Forget all the contract/positional value stuff & the fact that they had to find cheaper production at OL.
Panthers drafted a starting LT for this season & a (hopeful) long term solution at 19.
What else could you want?

Eight-time Pro-Bowl DE Cameron Jordan, who has spent his 15-year career in New Orleans and had 10.5 sacks last season, will not have a new deal in place with New Orleans by next week and now will hit free agency for the first time in his NFL career, per sources. Jordan will play a 16th NFL season and is said to be open to leaving New Orleans.

The Giants are releasing linebacker Bobby Okereke, per source. Opens up a hole in the middle of the Giants defense. Frees up $9 million in cap space.
Expect Giants to be aggressive in finding a replacement. Okereke was a defensive captain who had 143 tackles this past season.
