📢Good news! 📢
Our latest research shows a modest upturn in children and young people's reading engagement in 2026.
This is positive, but we must keep going to embed reading into their everyday lives.

ALT Last year, reading enjoyment among children and young people hit a 20-year low. This year, there's an upturn for the first time in five years. Graph compares 2025 (when 32.7% of children enjoyed reading) and 2026 (now at 36.1%).
On one hand, it's a football kit launch... on the other hand, it features a brilliant poem about #Hull by our friend Shane Rhodes.
Fun fact - the actor you see is Matt Sutton. Matt voiced the 'Plender' short-film we made and really brought Ted Lewis's novel to life for us.
Good morning,
It's a BIG day for @big_malarkey today, we've sent Malarkey Claire to start marking out the site in East Park! Visit thebigmalarkeyfestival.com/ for all the latest news
You want meta? We’ve got meta. Here’s Angus (who writes for Curiosity) writing about Curiosity (who he writes for) on his own Substack.
Ever-increasing ripples in the pond.
Today is #WorldEnvironmentDay so we're taking back all the books that people have read, putting them onto shelves for people to look at, then giving them out again to other people who haven't read them yet. For free.
What a system. ❤️
