My latest column for @TeenVogue on how proposed mask bans are the new ugly laws and how the mask is the new unsightly marker of deviant individuals Many thanks to @broadwaybabyto @Aoiferocksitout @BeingCharisBlog & @Eman_Rimawi for talking with me!

Violet Affleck: “I contracted a post-viral condition in 2019. I'm okay now, but I saw first-hand that medicine does not always have answers to the consequences of even minor viruses. The Covid 19 pandemic has thrown into sharp relief. 1 in 10 infections leads to Long Covid.”
Violet Affleck holding it down at the LA County Board of Supervisors demanding mask availability, mask mandates in hospitals, and clean air in all government buildings including jails and detention centers. Go Violet! 😷🍉

When I say fatphobia within healthcare can literally kill, people call me dramatic
My friends Mum kept going to the GP complaining of stomach pain, and they kept telling her to lose weight. Anyway, she died of stomach cancer, leaving behind 3 kids. Don't let these GPs put everything down to your weight pls.

Gen. AI is unprofitable, unsustainable, and fundamentally limited in what it can do thanks to the fact that it's probabilistically generating an answer. It's not the future - it's a regurgitation of the past. wheresyoured.at/pop-culture/

Newsletter: Goldman Sachs has called BS on Generative AI, and I believe that it's time that everybody follows suit - generative AI is unreliable, unsustainable, requires an entire rebuild of America's power grid, and is most decidedly not the future. wheresyoured.at/pop-culture/

Welp, that's all folks. The President is immune from prosecution so long as he says he committed crimes as part of his "official" duties. So ends the part of the American experience where our leaders were bound by the rule of law. Thanks for playing.

"Perhaps most fundamentally, Chevron’s presumption is misguided because agencies have no special competence in resolving statutory ambiguities. Courts do." -- this guy is saying that EXPERTS don't have any special competence to know how to apply the law, but judges do.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court ruled today that cities can punish unhoused people for sleeping in public, even if they have nowhere else to go.  We cannot arrest our way out of homelessness.

If you’re that high risk, you shouldn’t be in large crowds.” They’re saying the quiet part out loud. Many believe disabled people should stay home forever and not belong in society. We deserve to exist in society safely. The fact that this even needs to be said is disgraceful!

There is a new study about the experiences of professionals who work with Turtle Island Indigenous MAPs that could help psych and helper professionals better understand and help their patients. For this study, you are invited to describe your experiences.

Reminding people to stop using this BS garbage, even for giggles. We need to overthrow this trend. These corporations want nothing more than to burn the world into the ground, and make us pay the price. Billionaires think the world owes them and is their playground. ENOUGH.

everyone's ignoring this because they think modernity is an absolute reality and not a fragile thing capitalists created......there will come a point where the heat causes our power grids to fail, shattering the illusion of safety many people in imperial cores operate under
Mexico just hit a searing 52°C (125.6°F), tying the highest temperature ever recorded in Mexico. The unprecedented run of heat in 2024 continues in Mexico.
