I like consoly.app, it’s a fun way to learn a new programming language. It’s a great example of what you can build in Flutter. Built by @diegoveloper !

❗Our first major milestone in decoupling Material and Cupertino: As of April 7th, contributions to these libraries in the flutter/flutter repo are officially frozen. Next stop: re-releasing them as material_ui and cupertino_ui packages on pub.dev.

Flutter devs, are you ever inconvenienced by page transitions being tightly coupled with Material and Cupertino? Would they be better off in the Widgets layer? Looking for thoughts: docs.google.com/document/d/1…

Three days after this post, we are able to render it, For real, right in #FlutterDev Coming soon to a liquid_glass_renderer near you 🫧
A week ago, Apple showcased Liquid Glass, its new UI style. 🎨 Where does that leave Flutter? Regardless of your thoughts on Liquid Glass, it will be here soon, and if you want your app to have a native feel, that is something you will need to adapt to. The good news is that Flutter essentially works like a game engine; it supports shaders, which makes it possible to efficiently create these kinds of effects. It may be a challenge to get it pixel-perfect to Apple’s effect, but the community has all hands on deck, and we’re already very close. I think this story will be similar to how Flutter managed to replicate the iOS scroll views perfectly. It won’t be possible to tell if your app is using Apple’s native Liquid Glass or a shader in Flutter. The larger question to me is how many Flutter developers will adopt the new style, as it may require us to write more platform-specific code. What are your thoughts?

if you think Flutter on iOS feels bad or has an uncanny valley felling in 2025, it's a skill issue, you're holding it wrong, this Flutter app feels exactly like a native iOS app it's pretty wild.
