I helped build the social media world we know. $5 billion in global advertising sold. We'll look back and realize it was like smoking in doctors' offices. Social media: Worse than we thought. 🧵

A UK student's reaction is going viral after Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Britain will ban children younger than 16 from using social media. During a BBC interview, the student revealed her screen time was nine hours over the weekend. When asked how she'd fill all that extra time without social media, she didn't hesitate: "Stare at a wall." The deadpan response is quickly becoming one of the most shared reactions to the UK's sweeping new restrictions on children's social media use.

The key to saving the environment is not looking backward, it’s moving forward. I realized this the first time I visited Italy twenty years ago. Everything was clean and green. The rivers sparkled. The lesson for me was obvious: the answer is not underdevelopment. The answer is progress. When China was poor, the air was so polluted that people could barely see the blue sky. Today, blue skies have returned to their cities. Development does not only create wealth, it also provides the resources needed to restore and protect the environment. Some environmentalists want us to preserve every aspect of our biodiversity, including the mosquitoes for example, so that researchers can fly in once every ten years from their universities (which build particle accelerators and billion-dollar laboratories with their pocket money), study our ecosystems, and count how many people died from dengue outbreaks. They want to buy our air through carbon credits. If carbon credits were such a great deal, they would be selling them to us, not the other way around. Cleaning every river, lake, and water source in El Salvador, and ensuring they remain clean and sparkling, would cost roughly $12 billion. Where is that money supposed to come from without economic development? Carbon credits? The path forward for our country is the path of Japan and Singapore, not the path of the Congo.

Fun fact: @GavinNewsom has budgeted >300% more tax dollars for a nonexistent California rail system than SpaceX raised in private capital in its entire history as a private company.

Good take. The health care system is a travesty.
The reason anyone gets insanely rich is almost always because of the stock market. It certainly how @elonmusk did. And the reason they get rich from the stock market, is because 150m Americans decided they wanted to own shares of stocks directly, or through their retirement plans, or through other approaches as a way of building their net worth and trying to create a better life for themselves. One Hundred Fifty Million Americans. About 60% of adults. Effectively believing that @elonmusk and many billionaires could make them wealthier and help them achieve a better life. If you want @elonmusk , and most billionaires to no longer be that rich, convince those 150m to sell their stocks, funds, ETFs whatever. Of course you would wipe out the net-worth of most of those people, and everyone else’s savings, as the markets crashed and brought down the economy and created the worst depression we have ever seen. Alternatively There are ways to improve healthcare access and eventually make it available to all. To start - If you want @elonmusk and all billionaires to improve healthcare for everyone , ask them to stop doing business with the enormous healthcare conglomerates and to work directly with transparently priced care providers. It’s the behemoth HC conglomerates that make HC so bad for so many. (Check my timeline for more detail) Removing them would push the cost of healthcare down for everyone. Their corporate decisions impact our healthcare cost and availability. Of course if they do that, not only would our HC costs go down , and the quality of care for their employees and the entire country go up But They would see their corporate cash flow increase dramatically and we would have more millionaires, billionaires and maybe even another trillionaire when that cash flow moved from the big health care conglomerates to their bottom line, so would the net worth of the 150 million American adults that own public stocks Capitalism is better than socialism because 150m Americans can influence exactly what happens in this country.

As long as the government keeps printing @elonmusk will end up at $6.942 T in NW before this is all done
Elon Musk is now worth $1.1 trillion as SpaceX stock, $SPCX, surges over 30%.

There two kinds of socalists, idiots and the sociopaths to take advantage of the idiots. Taxing capital is taxing the means of production. Literally destroying the very thing that is necessary to lift the proletariat out of poverty.
Reason #1,000,000,000,000 why we should tax the rich.

Sounds like they took out supreme leader and negotiations will now proceed
Iran President: ‘Our priority is national security and the peace of our people. We will defend the rights of the nation with authority and will not retreat in the face of any threat. Diplomacy and defense are the two wings of national power; we have neither abandoned the field nor the negotiating table. God willing, with unity and rationality, Iran will emerge triumphant from this trial as well.’

Thank you @sriramk for this generous post. It has been one of the great privileges of my time in the Administration to work so closely with you over the past 18 months. Your skills are genuinely unique: a rare combination of deep technical fluency in AI, sharp policy instincts, exceptional strategic thinking, and true diplomatic talent. It will be a huge loss for the administration, but I’m glad we’ll continue working together with you as an outside adviser. We've accomplished a lot together, and this feels like the right moment to recap some of the key milestones: * You co-authored the Administration’s AI Action Plan, our comprehensive strategy for winning the AI race. * You helped drive the AI Acceleration Partnerships that are positioning the American AI stack to compete and win globally. * You played a key role in the National AI Policy Framework (executive order and policy document), which is now the foundation for discussions with Congress on a national approach to AI regulation instead of a chaotic patchwork of state rules. * You helped deliver the Preventing Woke AI in the Federal Government executive order, which ensures that federally procured AI systems prioritize neutrality and truth-seeking over ideological bias and capture. * You advanced American interests at the AI Summits in France and India and through state visits to the UK, the Middle East, and beyond. As AI Czar, it has been a huge honor for me to work for President Trump as he provides the clear leadership and vision for American AI dominance. His policies have put America in the lead in the AI race: supporting innovation, unleashing energy abundance, building out infrastructure, pushing back against unnecessary regulation, enabling American exports, and promoting re-industrialization. Sriram was a key partner in turning these priorities into action. And as he said, this was a true team effort with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, NEC Director Kevin Hassett, OSTP Director Michael Kratsios, Secretary Rubio, Secretary Bessent, Secretary Lutnick, and too many others to mention. Thank you again Sriram for your service. You made a huge difference. I’m sorry to see you go but grateful for the work we’ve done together and looking forward to what comes next.
🇺🇸🚀 SOME NEWS: I'll be leaving my role at the White House at the end of this month. After a break I’ll be working on helping tackle some of the large challenges facing America on AI (more on that later). It is hard to express how big a privilege it has been to serve the American people and how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to do so. First and foremost, it has been an honor to serve under President @realDonaldTrump . Without his leadership, we would not be leading in the AI race. Second, I owe a lot to the person I’ve worked mostly closely with over the last 18 months - @DavidSacks . His continuing advocacy for America winning on AI has been and continues to be crucial. Some key public accomplishments from last year I’m proud of 1. Architecting and publishing the American AI Action Plan - charting the course for America to win on AI and helping execute on that for the last year. 2. The AI acceleration partnerships to help American AI stack win globally. 3. The National AI Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence executive order (forming the basis for working with the Hill this year) 4. Advocating for the American AI stack with our allies globally (the AI summits in France and India, state visits to the UK, the Middle East and more) So what’s next? The past 18 months have given me a front row seat to this critical moment on AI facing America and our allies. Whether it is energy, data centers or a clear path for Americans to experience the benefits of AI, there are many tough issues we all need to navigate together. I plan on building institutions that help tackle some of those challenges for America and its allies. I want to thank many others who have helped along the way in the administration : Kevin Hassett, @mkratsios47 , CoS @SusieWiles47 , VP @JDVance , @StevenCheung47 , Sec Bessent, Sec Lutnick, Sec Rubio and @jacobhelberg , @USWREMichael , Josh Gruenbaum, Watson Fagan, Ryan Baasch, Jeff Kessler, Alexei Bulazel, DepSec Landau, DepSec Dabar, Will Scharf, Taylor Budowich, @JamesBlairUSA , @elonmusk and many, many others. You know who you are and I know I’ll continue to see you a lot more. Most of all, I want to thank @aarthir on supporting everything and being part of this unexpected but amazing journey from last January. None of this would be possible without her. This journey has been the privilege of a lifetime and shown me how special this country is and how it needs all of us to contribute in anyway we can - and I plan on continuing to do just that. 🇺🇸

I don't have a dog in the fight other than I used to love going to LA but this article reads like a 2020 COVID propaganda article trying to bury that California has an embarasing infrastructure for vote counting and likely tons of fraud....the "experts" quoted saying there couldn't be fraud tells you everything you need to know Does Nithya Raman still have a chance? California's uncounted votes could help Democrats - Los Angeles Times share.google/IFUfFbT2FbUxVq9…

I see a lot of doomposting about Bitcoin and crypto because crypto is somehow not the favourite toy of the market at the moment (AI stonks are). I want to remind that crypto is not a toy, and it's serving its true purpose - self-sovereignty of every user, financial rails which are always on and do not stop working. Institutions are also into adopting something which has no clunky intermediaries now, so fundamentally we are better than ever. AI is foundational, but it will go through its own valley of death: replacing humans by AI would put AI outputs into AI inputs, quality will degrade, and costs will grow exponentially to maintain it. Large companies who push AI everywhere aren't necessarily using it correctly, so they report some overly large expenses. Both technologies - crypto and AI - are foundational. They are not the same thing though, and they are not competing with each other in principle. Crypto is the future of Finance!

Seeing the timeline getting bear holed on BTC just because Saylor might need to sell <3% of his balance sheet. One thing that I've always found useful is just doing a mental exercise that if I had no access to any news other than price what would my bias be? Price is currently sitting at the 1W 200 SMA. At these levels there is zero overextension in the market and it's trading at what I would consider as the fairest price possible. If I was in the view that BTC is not going to die as an asset and I am a long term spot buyer then here is where I would be stepping in and anything below I would class as a gift. Being bear holed here is wrong and an emotionally driven decision. $BTC
