No school has been moved forward by a weekly email, nor meetings in which teachers are re-told the contents of emails. Principals: stop saying things like “we need to see more x y and z” and instead personally model what teachers should do, and unpack/rehearse it together.

Fantastic article by Linda Kimoton on multi-sensory instruction. I would go so far as to suggest that this may be the biggest myth in the SOR movement. lindakimpton.substack.com

#HB2 by Buckley has passed the #txlege with a unanimous vote in the Texas Senate. A historical funding of public education but I'd like to shine a light specifically on the landmark #earlynumeracy policy in the bill. #txed

“Handwriting is not a mechanical skill but rather a written language skill at the subword level of language that enables the transcription of sound and morpheme units into spelling written words, which, alone and with other words, enables the translation of ideas into written sentences” (Wolf & Berninger, 2018, p. 435).
