This isn’t vote shaming. It’s stating a fact. Harris losing will not move the party further left. It will not “teach them a lesson.” I understand why some people feel they can’t vote for her but reckon with the harm electing Trump will cause & don’t pretend her losing will help
As we celebrate Labor Day, we must recognize the sinister loophole in our 13th Amendment, which allows for slavery “as punishment for a crime.” Slavery and forced labor should be illegal, no exceptions. That’s why @RepNikema and I are working to pass the Abolition Amendment.
On Monday 7/29 I'm attending The Democratic National Committee's event, “Women for Harris National Organizing Call” - sign up now to join me! events.democrats.org/event/6…
I am also @NBPTS certified (and a parent) and I find this attitude offensive. You should at least post it under your own name instead of identifying it with @NBPTS.
Fascinating thread. I think any teacher can relate to plugging away doing the right thing (and making a difference) while blowhards of all types pontificate.
Can we...just accept that we suck at this?
I want to tell you a story that has made me kinda hopeless about Twitter's ability to affect positive things happening, and it starts with this tweet from Hillary Clinton.

Holy cow. A student directly confronted a founder of Moms for Liberty for getting involved in a threesome after attacking his “sexual immorality” as a member of the LGBTQ community. THIS is why we love Gen Z. He made her find out bad. So freaking good.

The 50% floor for grading has become this weird political/cultural thing. To me, it is a misapplication of the math. I teach stats, and in the first unit we teach that the mean is not an appropriate measure of center with outliers, which a 0 /100 generally is.
To ask for classrooms without mold or mice is not radical. Students and teachers deserve decent classroom conditions and teachers deserve decent pay. I stand with @pdxteachers and Portland teachers in their fight to make their schools better for students and themselves.
I stand with @pdxteachers and the teachers in Portland, Oregon who are fighting for better working conditions and the school support they need to provide the education our students deserve. We must protect teachers' right to stand up for themselves and their students.
Another favorite tv teacher, @LisaAnnWalter, wants our leaders to know that she believes in us and our fight for Portland students.
When workers stand together, we win! #GreatPublicSchoolsForAll
Our favorite tv kindergarten teacher has a message of solidarity for Portland educators 💓
If @thesherylralph is on our side, we know we're going to win #greatpublicschoolsforall!
Rolling with the Portland teachers forever. These people dedicate their lives to helping kids, when they're walking out, they're walking out so they can do a better job of helping those kids.
After months of planning, negotiating, and fighting for the contract we and Portland students deserve, it is time for us to take the next step.
We are on strike until district leaders make real investments in Portland students and schools. #GreatPublicSchoolsForAll
Portland Teachers marching downtown. March stretches out of eyesight, probably most of the Burnside Bridge. Leave time, or get here to listen to their excellent marching band.
