people can certainly feel one way or the other ab this show. that’s a whole separate discussion and i myself am not a huge fan of the Concept of it but if ur going to die on the hill of the language discussion especially as someone who claims to be a fan of kpop…u of all people should know that the content we are given is very often translated into inaccurate/bare bones/cut-cornered english, hence why so many fandoms have their own fan-run translators to add the extra pieces. it’s FOR a korean audience
if you’re sitting here telling koreans (not even all of them have been kfans) to their faces that what theyre explaining to you is wrong even when they’ve been telling you that there very well would have been an uproar 3 weeks ago if there actually was an issue then i really don’t know what else to tell you especially if you’ve been alive long enough to exist on the kpop side of the internet surrounded by insane amounts of language and cultural differences. nothing is going to line up perfectly across languages

only thing i will say as someone who studied languages is: before giving your thinkpiece maybe start by documenting yourself on a language and also listen to native speakers when they explain you the meaning of a word without denying because “in my language it means this”

it’s normal to be surprised about words in different languages because we all have our own full of meanings etc etc, the wrong thing however is assuming without listening to native speakers explaining to you what it means
