It was a fable after all. I think this is great marketing for the Anthropic IPO. The fact that the genpop won't realise that open weight models are probably not far behind (what, 6 months?). Of course, the US government should not have such overreach. This will be fixed shortly, but if you thought Anthropic was a supply chain risk with the Fable/Mythos limitations, the US government is also a new threat. We already have providers asking for our government issued ID, which I think many are happy to comply with. But ask yourself, did you provide such ID verification to use a C compiler on your own box? It can't be that Anthropic is out of capacity on SpaceX IPO day... though it is a funny joke we will tell ourselves. We did get usage limit resets (woe is me, mine reset yesterday anyway). Plenty to think about for many this weekend, because your strategies about LLM usage & dependability will change rapidly going forward.

May Europe one day wake up and start striving for this level of capitalistic homerun. Dump the degrowth nonsense, celebrate progress, and once again reach for the stars.
