Amazing to see the work that @weareMSUK are doing. The communities look like such great support and the research going into this area is so impressive ❤️
Individually IMDs may be rare, but together they are common!
Building communities helps connect people with similar experiences, sharing in peer support and understanding.
From online FB groups & monthly online coffee lounge chats to our annual in-person community conference.
IMDs are rare conditions that affect the body's metabolic reactions. There are over 500 IMDs with a wide range of symptoms and prognosis.
Some disorders can be life changing or life-limiting, but others can be managed by diet or medication.

A friend shared this article on her social media on the 1st May and she died on Sunday, I feel like we’ve come far enough now that people shouldn’t be dying from EDs. My heart hurts. amp.theguardian.com/society/…
Today has involved painting some keyrings for an online craft market. Trying to be brave and see if people might like to buy them. Having a self critic is a pain sometimes, but here’s to trying to challenge it ❤️ #compassion#selfcompassion#creativecompassion#handmade#creative
Does anyone have any experience of collaboration between CMHT and private mental health care? Or experience that they’ve not been able to work in tandem? Any info appreciated ❤️
I’ve been mindfully getting back into painting lately. Trying to channel some #compassion and soothing into a somewhat threat based period of time I’m finding myself in. Tapping and remembering breathing is important is also helping #mentalhealth#selfcompassion#artjournalling
I’ll only share one line from Ali’s inquest. More could and should have been done to keep her safe and prevent her ending her life. My heart feels broken but I hope positive changes happen now. Places of safety should keep people safe, or do everything in their power to do so 💔
Compassion for others feels so much easier than self-compassion. But I’m determined to keep working on it. It’s a journey for sure ❤️ the last few weeks have involved being vulnerable, letting people in and occasionally bursting into tears. But that’s ok ❤️#compassion#cft#art
Hey @bmstores, not sure if you missed a lot of feminism… but these pens are NOT the one. My gender doesn’t impact on whether I’m a legend or not. Gross! #feminism#genderequality#sexist
I’ve also seen a lot of people saying it’s ok to do what you feel comfortable with if you ‘don’t feel ready’ to do more. It’s not that I don’t feel ‘ready’, it’s that looking at data right now, it doesn’t feel safe. Readiness implies needing to adjust, not make informed choices.
