"Across the country, hospices are being forced to cut staff, reduce their bed numbers & slash community services for dying people who wish to be cared for at home." Please read my piece on the defunding of NHS palliative care. It's a political choice with shattering human consequences. Only 30% of hospice care is NHS funded in England - I believe this is a national travesty.

You cannot hope to fix what you dare not name. The NHS is on its knees, broken by 14 years of deliberate, calculated neglect & underinvestment. We can transform it, I know we can. But there’s no hope without admitting the gravity of the task. And we owe patients transparency.

My piece for @guardianopinion about the all-important need for NHS candour - and, yes, that does include those courageous yet anonymous ‘senior NHS sources’ briefing that @wesstreeting’s frankness about our broken NHS might lower staff morale. Trust me, it’s an immense relief.

I made an album called “Identity” last year for a reason. The discourse on here, on other platforms and in MSM was becoming increasingly vicious, judgemental and ignorant. I was ultimately exhausted by it. I still am. So I decided to celebrate individualism, otherness and identity the best way I knew how. Through music and collaboration. Every morning I wake up confused by how cruel the world has become. I don’t need compassion to “tolerate” difference… I welcome it because, to be honest, I would be bored out of my skull in a homogeneous, predictable world. People are born amazing. Everyone is… What is even more wonderful is that we can make amazing life choices too. What I don’t get are those who dedicate so much precious time and energy in ruining life choices for other people simply because they don’t understand their differences. Unless someone is harming or attacking you in some way… no one is a threat just because they are not like you. I look for and embrace our differences. Bigotry and prejudice isn’t difference. It’s simply ignorance and unkindness. There is no strength in guns, bombs, abuse, selfishness, hate and intolerance. Strength is in recognising we’re a global community with the power to elevate our own and each other’s lives… It takes no strength to deliberately jump, and pull each other down, like rabid nutters, into the pits of hell. Anyway, enjoy your morning :) 🙏🏾
