This ad contains disinformation about the 2020 election and Meagan Wolfe’s role as @WI_Elections commisioner, which I’ve already debunked for @PolitiFactWisc @journalsentinel: jsonline.com/story/news/poli…
A group called Wisconsin Election Committee, Inc. is running TV ads in Milwaukee including on WISN-TV threatening to recall or primary challenge Assembly Speaker Robin Vos if he doesn't move forward with impeaching Wisconsin's top elections chief Meagan Wolfe

A new congressional map takes North Carolina from having one of the fairest voting maps in the country to its most biased — and voters of color are among the big victims. bit.ly/3tRuw73

Great hack; a community kitchen shouldn’t have to work so hard to circumvent bad policy, though.
OH THIS IS DOPE

The front page of tomorrow's @dailytarheel – I shed many tears while typing up these heart-wrenching text messages sent and received by UNC students yesterday. Our campus was on lockdown for more than three hours. Beyond proud of this cover and the team behind it.

Yesterday was an anxious hell. But in the spirit of looking for helpers, I’m grateful to the students who shared chargers, colleagues who teamed up to secure doors, the campus Y employee who advised on exit routes and secure closets. Let’s never #unclockdown together again.

What NOT to do in election reporting. Providing accurate information is one aspect of good reporting. But especially around elections, good journalism MUST provide context and connect experts and explainers to their audiences. The alternative is to become conspiracy fodder.
1. 🧵How 1 reporter started a MAGA panic over voting in Ohio yesterday It began with a video tweet, wherein a reporter declared, "ALL ballot scanners are down & not working at Cuyahoga Falls polling location." x.com/MikeHoldenNews/status/…

A self-fulfilling prophecy...states say they're leaving ERIC because other states are leaving ERIC. “As fewer states are participating, the costs are increasing and the amount of data we’re going to receive will be reduced,” Pierce said. texas.votebeat.org/2023/7/20…
