I had a conversation with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at Chișinău Airport, on my way to the G7 Summit.
I am grateful to His All-Holiness for his support and unequivocal moral stance: Russia’s drone strikes on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra – a holy site not only of Ukraine, but of the Orthodox world as a whole – are barbarism for which there can be no justification. Patriarch Bartholomew and I also discussed possible formats for in-person meetings.
I invited His All-Holiness to Ukraine. I am grateful for his prayers for Ukraine and our people.

Today, Russian forces struck a monument of WORLD heritage significance, on the level of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris and Aachen Cathedral. This church stood there even when frogs were croaking on the site of Moscow.
The lying and unscrupulous officials from the Russian Ministry of Defense, as usual, claimed that Ukraine bombed itself — allegedly it was a Patriot missile strike.
At the same time, remains of Russian “Shaheds” were found at the site of the strike, which completely destroys this version of events.

The Russian foreign minister insulted the German leadership.
“When Mr. Wadephul — I am sure he cannot not know that we have been publicly saying this for years — suddenly claims again that Bucha is a symbol of Russian terror against Ukraine, then he is simply a good student of Goebbels. This does not disappear either,” the minister said.
Such statements from a high-ranking Russian official and head of diplomacy represent a major scandal.
“Germany is shedding the veil that used to hide Nazi roots and Nazi instincts, which, as it turns out, have not gone anywhere,” Lavrov added.
It should be noted that today Russian forces struck a world heritage site in Kyiv — the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, listed by UNESCO.
Such actions place Russia on the same level as the Kremlin regime’s preferred allies — the Taliban.
JUST IN: Lavrov has once again spotted a “losing Ukraine” — apparently to avoid looking at Russia
Russia’s foreign minister claims Europe is “seriously mistaken” if it believes Moscow is losing the war. According to Lavrov, it is Ukraine — not Russia — that is currently on the losing side.
That, he says, is exactly why Russia will not accept any ultimatums.
The Kremlin continues to dismiss reality as an “illusion” — especially when it comes to the war, sanctions, mounting losses, and the price Russia has been paying for more than four years.

💔The Bells of the Lavra After a Difficult Night of Russian Shelling
Last night, during Russia’s massive attack on Kyiv, a strike hit the historic Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra — one of Ukraine’s most sacred UNESCO World Heritage sites, founded in 1051.
Monks, clergy, and rescuers formed human chains under threat to urgently evacuate ancient icons, antimins (liturgical cloths with relics), and other priceless shrines from the burning Dormition Cathedral.
The Lavra stands. The relics are safe. But the pain and the scars remain.

President Zelenskyy suggested a meeting with Putin during the G7 summit in France:
"We gave the message that we are ready to meet with Putin during the G7, because Trump is there and Macron is there, so Europeans plus America. This is a good, I think, very good opportunity to meet all together.
Europe and the United States were agreed and Russia demonstrated again that...they are not ready to speak."
Russia has launched its third massive strike during this month on Ukraine and Kyiv.
I know how tired you all are of this war that lasts so long. We're also exhausted from it. But that's exactly what our enemy is counting on.
Putin has no intention to end the war now, and he wants to stall for time, just like before. While Putin remains in power, this scenario will not change.
But there are changes in Russia: the dissatisfaction with Putin is growing due to gas shortages, inflation, Internet shutdowns, the approaching mobilization. Most Russians understand that the war is leading Russia nowhere, that it needs to be stopped, and they also realize that the war will last while Putin is in power.
Putin is criticized more and more, not just by "Z-bloggers" like Ilya Remeslo, but in "Moscow living rooms" as well. The general consensus is that Putin missed out on the "Spirit of Anchoridge" way out - to end the war on good terms for Russia.
I think the fall will be a time of true crisis in Russia. We need to do our best to make it happen and make it stronger.
And for now, sadly, Russia will continue terrorizing Ukrainian civilians.
