When I was a teenage journalist at Michigan State, an 87-year-old WWII veteran who spent his entire life forgetting his past and keeping it from his family, held my hand and told me his story.

John Hao was a victim of the shooting on Michigan State’s campus over three years ago.
He graduated from MSU this weekend and got a photo with Tom Izzo, who has been one of Hao’s biggest supporters since the incident took place.
