A first ringing demo for the newly founded SouthWest Ireland Ringing Group at Killarney National Park yesterday. A good selection of birds for the 20 participants, but a pair of Treecreeper and Long-tailed Tit were the show stoppers @NPWSIreland@_BTO@BirdWatchIE
Great day on Brownstown Head,Co. Waterford today with 2 different male Bluethroats found by @Watbirder1
The first spring birds I’ve seen in Ireland.
Saw 2 Hoopoes as well on the Head.
1st. Wn. Common Crane showed well on the way home near Goresbridge, Co. Kilkenny.
After yesterday's fall of Hoopoes on the south coast, @daniel_weldon and I decided to do Brownstown Head this morning. Within a couple of hours, we had stumbled across 2 Bluethroats!! Also caught up with one of the Hoopoes later in the day. Memorable! @BrownstownBirds@watbirds

Enjoyable 2 days of ‘Scotering’ in Kerry in good conditions. Highlights were the continuing ad. WwScoter at Inch Strand accompanied now by a 1w ‘Velvet-type’; 9 Surfers (6 at Inch, 3 at Brandon Bay). Found a new ‘advanced’ 1w WwS @ Brandon with 4x Velvets present. @KerryBirdNews
