The pandemic could affect young children for decades, but if we provide kids & parents with support, & we find ways to help kids feel safe (even when having challenging behaviors because of a stress response), we can really help the stress be tolerable. hechingerreport.org/we-know-…

Our experts encourage parents to let their kids experience life's emotions – both the good & the bad. Talking openly about feelings helps kids learn that their emotional health is just as important as their physical health. Learn more: bit.ly/3hZrVjf #MentalHealthMonday

Love this 🙌🏻
We start every meeting with a two-word check-in. We take turns sharing two words that describe how we’re feeling that day. We all have the human need to see others and to be seen. The realness connects us. Today I'm feeling overwhelmed and focused. You?

Emails get reactions. Phone calls start conversations.
When you come back to your office to decompress and are instantly terrified. Thanks Maureen (and @jkharrison1974) for the fright. #dollinthehall

Opening up about your mental health is one of the bravest things you can do to show others they are not alone. @Dak's comments will help normalize these struggles and speak to countless individuals who are struggling quietly themselves. Together, we #KeepGoing. 💙

Sigal Barsade from @Wharton defines emotional contagion as "when we catch emotions from other people, which we do continually and subconsciously. We don't realize that it is happening. When it's negative, it can lead to more misery than there needs to be!" @marcbrackett #EI2020

I am loving the conversations from #EI2020. The talk on self-regulation has resonated with me. Move away from perceiving emotions as negative, but rather look at strategies to use these unpleasant emotions wisely. Unpleasant emotions can influence change.
"Emotion regulation isn't about making emotions disappear. It's about what we do with them. We are taking care of ourselves when we are managing our emotions." @DeCostaDawn #EI2020

Love this quote-esp now. If you're worried abt ur child's stress or "new" behavior, tune in to yourself. #Anxiety is contagious. #Kids copy/mirror us. Let's take deep breaths, turn off dismal news & catch negativity for our sake & for our children. #Breathe
