Passed away yesterday: French-Algerian writer & filmmaker Mehdi Charef. Born in Maghnia (1952), he moved to France at the age of 10. Known for his seminal novel "Le Thé au harem d'Archi Ahmed" (1983), adapted into a film (1985). His recent works are published by @Hors_d_atteinte.

Passed away yesterday: Moroccan writer, #lexicographer & translator Abdelghani Abou El Azm. Born in Marrakech (1941). Studied at the Sorbonne. Former active member of the Moroccan far left. Author of the modern Arabic dictionary "Al-Ghani Az-Zahir" & three autobiographical works.
