1. We move the deadline.
2. We reduce scope.
3. We implement “crunch mode” , everybody puts in 80 hour weeks till the deadline, burns out, quits and goes to work somewhere else.

Having been in the industry for 20 years, the biggest change I’ve seen is that design teams are now more over-extended across more products & required to move faster in favor delivery of mediocre work at the expense of even basic quality. This does not produce great products.
