Ai harnessing is the new programming paradigm. It is very powerful but very complex. As far as I can see, just as complex as the most advanced full stack architecture. What’s really interesting to me, an ancient nerd, are the completely new use cases that Ai harnessing addresses.

Walked 19500 steps today, had only consumed 1350 calories … started getting dizzy. 😵💫 Refuelled with 2 eggs and 4 small slices of dark bread. Electrolyte water. All is well. You’ll got to watch it when old like me. I’m on a cut to 15% body fat.

Spec-driven AI development sounds great in theory, but if your plan is to write one giant monolithic spec, hand it to an AI, then go grab a coffee while it builds your app… you’re probably heading for trouble.
The better approach is hybrid.

Many are taking PEDs and GLP-1 … uh supplements, and they result in a very distinctive look on people. To my eyes, it looks unnatural. I think in time the aesthetic disposition of society will move to favour natural looking physiques and faces. Best to avoid IMHO.

Jeff Bezos is right: we are about to enter a jobs and productivity boom. The recent layoffs (Meta and Amazon) are about 10% of their total employees, and this is to be expected after the hiring boom that happened during the COVID years. Also, the Metaverse is a flop.

As the Ai stack continues to develop, it reminds me more and more of the paradigm shift I witnessed when the Web was in ascendancy. Ai development s the new development. Opportunities are mind blowing. 🤯

China is making great progress in the Ai race with nerfed resources. Perhaps an emphasis and investment in STEM education rather than the arts, has resulted in a much deeper pool of top-tier talent. The state bankrolling the arts, is probably an indicator of declining empire.

The improvements in the base models from my POV,, are incremental. The key today is in effective harnessing. Harnessing is the new programming language.

I’ve seen demos of GPT 5.5 and Opus 4.7 generating websites; not impressed. They are basically smart templates. Think of combining a Wordpress template with Ai based text and image generators. When I saw the Claude demo website it had a distinct design signature - a template.

People think Ai thinks because Ai uses the same method we use (most of the time) to interpret reality: association. Unlike Ai, humans can actually use logic, we just rarely do because it’s expensive energy wise.

Ai hype fear cycle is getting exhausting. This industry decided that using the fear carb was the marketing strategy to use. Y2K all over again. Among other things BS fear narratives. Ai is capable but not in the same way the industry would have you think.

Don’t let the doomers get you down; this is probably the best time for developers in decades IF they adopt the new methods that includes Ai. Development is no less complex, just far more productive … if you do it right.
