At the Level 5 hospital where I work, we currently have 438 nursing students, 77 clinical officer students, 39 nutrition students, 54 health records students, 23 orthopaedic and trauma students, 31 radiography students, and 17 pharm tech students to mention just a few.
We've even had to reject attachment requests from other institutions. Imagine this is one level 5 in kenya, we are producing healthcare graduates in huge numbers. The question is: where will they all go in the next five years?
The medical field may soon stop being as lucrative as many people assume.
