#AI ethics have always focused on the limitations of systems. What does an AI ethics look like that focuses on AI's strengths? We offer some thoughts: authors.elsevier.com/a/1lxOU…

If we are going to ask how AI aligns with doctor decisions, we have to first know what the doctor decisions are. As part of the Human Values Project, we have challenged doctors with triage decisions. Even though US doctors are 2/3 of respondents so far, Saudi clinicians appear to be the closest to the group consensus on these sometimes difficult decisions. If you are a doctor and have 5 minutes to spare: go to study.hvp.global and help us align AI to our human values.

Apple’s bombshell paper on #theillusionofthinking is more evidence that high stakes reasoning is still an exclusively human domain (unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your faith in human reasoning!)

U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly (99-1) to remove a moratorium from the #bigbeautifullbill to ban states from enacting or enforcing laws specifically regulating AI for a decade. But @sama says a “patchwork” of state AI laws will slow down AI. He has a point (see privacy laws)

Thanks to @curtlanglotz, Dr. Alyce Adams and everyone at @StanfordHCAI for their generous invitation to participate in such stimulating, multidisciplinary discussions around human-centered AI!

Trump’s -#BigBeautifulBill would put a moratorium on state AI bills for 10 years. Good or bad? Inviting your thoughts.
