The Charlotte‑Mecklenburg School Board has agreed to pay a $95,000 settlement to the family of Ardrey Kell High School student Gabby Stout, after the district acknowledged it violated her constitutional rights.
After Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September of last year, Stout painted an homage to him on the school's spirit rock. The school had then falsely accused her of vandalism, according to her lawyers.
As part of the settlement, CMS issued a clarification stating Stout did none of the things she was accused of.
