June E Huh (born June 9, 1983) is a Korean American mathematician who is currently a professor at Princeton University. Previously, he was a professor at Stanford University.
He proved the Dowling-Wilson conjecture and other results linking combinatorial geometry with algebraic geometry and Hodge theory. Huh developed the theory of Lorentzian polynomials and advanced the understanding of matroids and their geometric properties.
His work resolved long-standing conjectures in combinatorial geometry. Huh continues research at the intersection of algebra, geometry, and combinatorics.
He was the first korean mathematician who got awarded the Fields Medal and a MacArthur Fellowship in 2022. He has been noted for the linkages that he has found between algebraic geometry and combinatorics.
