I think it does exist. Ppl getting educated & forcing themselves out of poverty, climbing up from poor/ lower mid class to upper middle class. But thats the end of it..

Australian media is reporting on the murder of a Pakistani-Australian girl after Punjab's Crime Control Department (CCD) allegedly opened fire on her family's vehicle in Chakwal.
The tragedy has renewed concerns about conduct of CCD, frequently accused of fabricated cases and fake encounters.

these are two different entities tho, minimum wage is the minimum amount a working individual should be earning (so either full or half the family income depending on one or both parents working) while the poverty line income/person for the whole family

Minimum wage is Rs 40,000/month but apparently if you're earning Rs 9000/month you're doing well also.

i find it really interesting how karachi - one of pakistan's worst cities in terms of law and order - is much more efficient at taxing retailers than places like lahore and Islamabad where the policing etc is much better
