The Siri Road / Malabar Hill valley and the approach to the elevated nature trail are choking with litter — bins are absent and the roadside near the hanging garden bus stop is littered with garbage. We cleaned once to create awareness but it’s back to square one. Please coordinate regular cleaning and put up signage, bins, and patrols to stop this.@mybmc @mybmcWardD @GardenDept_Mum @ForestDeptMumbai

A brand new footpath in Tardeo already dug up and abandoned.
This is exactly why people are cynical about public works in Mumbai.
We spend crores rebuilding roads and footpaths, only to tear them open again within weeks for utilities or unfinished coordination between departments. Meanwhile pedestrians are left navigating rubble, broken surfaces and exposed trenches.

After much back-and-forth with civic authorities, Malabar Hill & neighbouring area residents who are opposing the coming up of the proposed 52 MLD alternate reservoir in their area held a crucial joint meeting with BMC officials and local MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha today evening within Hanging Gardens. Residents concerns are that the construction of the alternate Tak could destroy the green cover of the area forever. Pics by @Imtiyaztimes

Almost three years later, finally there seem some concrete movement over the construction of an alternate reservoir in Malabar Hill, with officials zeroing in on a three-tier design of 52 MLD capacity. Earlier plans to fully demolish & rebuild the reservoir were shelved following strong public opposition back in September 2023, as the move would have impacted the iconic Hanging Gardens situated above it. Infrastructure in Maharashtra in recent years has become such a giant scam that when we look back - we will wonder how such a monumental fraud even happened.
The only reason it’s not assessed currently is because people are just happy that infra is being built.
