ನಮ್ಮದು ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ ದೇಶ, ನಮಗೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.
ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಭಾಷೆಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಹಿಂದಿ ಕೂಡ ಒಂದು-ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮನ್ನಣೆಯಾಗಲಿ,ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಪಟ್ಟವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.
ಭಾರತೀಯರೆಂದು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಲು ಹಿಂದಿ ಕಲಿಯುವ ಅಗತ್ಯ ನಮಗಿಲ್ಲ.
"ನಾವು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರು".

Today at the airport a CISF officer asked me if “I am an Indian” when I asked her to speak to me in tamil or English as I did not know Hindi. I would like to know from when being indian is equal to knowing Hindi.

3 ನೇ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಾದ ತುಳು, ಕೊಡವಾ, ಕೊಂಕಣಿ, ಬ್ಯಾರಿ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಯಾವ ಬೇರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು 3 ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಿಸಲು ಇಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತದೋ ಆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 3 ನೇ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಲಿಸಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಬಹುದು ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲೂ ಯೋಚಿಸಲಿ.

ಇವತ್ತು ಸಂಜೆ ಐದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಳೆ ಬಂದಾಗಂತೂ ನಿಸಾರ್ ಅಹಮದ್ ಅವರನ್ನ ನೆನೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಣ್ತುಂಬಿ ಬಂದವು. ಅವರು ಹೋದಾಗಿನಿಂದ ಅವರದ್ದೇ, ಅವರ ಬರಹಗಳದ್ದೇ, ಅವರ ಕವನಗಳದ್ದೇ ಗುಂಗು. ಅವರ ಎರಡು ಕವನಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಡಿ, ಅದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ನಮನಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
