On 4th & 13 today, the @XFLRoughnecks called a fake FG with Chris Blewitt...which was sniffed out by Kedrick Whitehead.
It felt like a strange call, so I asked C.J. Johnson post-game about the decision to run this at a key moment.
His response: they practiced the play all week, and knew Michigan had tendencies to load up on the left side. Johnson said he "never takes anything home" (i.e. challenges), and they practiced this situation too much to not give it an attempt at least once in this game.
