Saying Clinton has a “rancid legacy” is honestly a sign that the way we talk about presidential legacies has become too abstract and story based. The man oversaw one of the most prosperous periods of the post war era, through more than one bipartisan bill managed to bring the deficit down to 0, came closer than anyone else to Middle East peace, under his watch three countries joined NATO, was amazing on trade, and he greatly expanded the Dem coalition. That’s an objectively successful legacy no matter what “story” his personal flaws tell. Wish his wife won in 2016.
COLUMN: The 1946 babies — Trump, Bush and Clinton — are leaving a rancid political legacy, writes our @harrispolitico.   “All three are also the preeminent representatives of the generation that trashed American politics,” he writes. politico.com/news/magazine/2…

Give me a Home Improvement reboot about Tim Allen mourning the death of his three boys, sitting on the throne of a fallen kingdom destroyed by the right wing capitalist empire he empowered.
Jun 12
Sorry, “Home Improvement” fans. A reboot of the massively popular sitcom is not happening. Sources tell Variety there have been discussions over the years to get the Taylor family back together again. But there have been stumbling blocks to securing participation from the three Taylor boys: the eldest son Brad (Zachary Ty Bryan), middle son Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), and youngest son Mark (Taran Noah Smith). Bryan, who is now 44, is currently serving a 16-month sentence in a California jail stemming from a 2024 DUI arrest. Bryan has been arrested on multiple DUI and domestic violence charges in the past several years. In addition, an Oregon judge recently sentenced Bryan to 19 months behind bars in that state due to violating his probation on a 2023 domestic violence conviction. Meanwhile, Bryan’s onscreen brothers are no longer acting and haven’t been onscreen for many years. Smith’s last acting credit was a voice role in the show “Batman Beyond” in 1999. variety.com/2026/tv/news/hom…

If Platner loses, all the people like Pod Bros and Warren/Sanders who propped him up and made him so are going to blame the Schumer and Senate leadership, right?
I think 99 percent of Dems would vote for either Joe Manchin or Graham Platner if they were the nominees in their states and the “vote blue no matter who” debate is mostly among faction-obsessed twitter types

This is what you get when you elect a professional bullshit artist to be commander in chief. Back in 2016, Robert Kagan labeled him "the most successful demagogue-charlatan in the history of U.S. politics," and that remains the best shorthand for him.

Good thing is he won't make any deal at all because IRGC doesn't want one. So Trump will have to invent a deal out of Papier-mâchÊ and then play around with it as supposedly professional journalists take it seriously.

Nominating normal candidates are taking places like NC off the map, while Democrats wait in dread for Michigan voters to fuck it all up
Crystal Ball moves NC's U.S. Senate race to leans Democrat. A Democrat hasn't been elected in North Carolina since 2008. Former Gov. Roy Cooper, a Democrat, is facing off against former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley to succeed Sen. Thom Tillis. #ncpol

So old I remember when inflation was literally the only thing the media talked about. Despite the US objectively having the best post-covid recovery in the world, the coverage was just searingly negative. Human interest stories of family's 'suffering.' And now this will barely be a blip in the news cycle.
Breaking News: U.S. inflation surged to a 4.2% annual rate in May, as higher energy prices put more pressure on the economy. nyti.ms/4vcLmYs

If I were a Texas Republican, I’d vote for Talarico. Bcuz even tho I disagree with him on most issues, he’s a good person who will defend democracy & the rule of law. And Paxton is a horrible, dishonest person who belongs to a party that is a threat to democracy & the rule of law. If I were a Maine Democrat, I wouldn’t vote for either Platner or Collins. Bcuz Platner is a horrible, dishonest person, and Collins belongs to a party that is a threat to democracy & the rule of law.

We’re never going to run out of these assholes, are we?
Right-wing pastor Todd Friel says Obama's presidential library is "downright diabolical" and "an intentional slight to God": "His presidential center, it shouts, 'I hate this America, I hate tradition, and I reject God's ordering of reality.'"

Susan Collins has essential tremors. It’s not fatal and it doesn’t impede her job. There are plenty of ways to criticize Susan Collins (I give her hell everyday) but this is just ableism.
I cannot imagine how embarrassingly MAGA Susan Collins, who can barely talk, will perform in a debate against the locked-in, meticulous, relentlessly motivated Platner.

Let’s review. Nancy Mace spent months accusing Alan Wilson of protecting pedophiles. And after she finishes in a pitiful 5th, she turns around and…endorses him. A fitting end to a political career defined almost entirely by performance art.

Not a Platner fan, but I would abstain or write-in a name in Nov. That’s the morally superior action. Platner is vile, unacceptable and I’m sad that the Schumers of the world are okay with him, but no one voting for Susan Collins is morally superior considering her track record

She listened to a woman talk about a violent rape experience then confirmed her rapist to the highest court in the land, so spare me the “I’m better for voting for her.” She’s human garbage and you’re only allowed to claim the High Ground if you abstain in Nov or write in a name

Susan Collins is a fraud who carries water for the worst thing that’s ever happened to modern America, and her faux moderation doesn’t really track with her fairly liberal state. It’s insulting and she’s a terrible person. So please, spare me.

.@RobSandIA is going to be Iowa’s next governor because he's a leader who doesn't play political games and prioritizes hardworking Iowans. Let's elect Rob and show that millions of dollars in outside money doesn't stand a chance against a real leader who cares about the people.
