Favorite idea of the past week came from @chamath on @theallinpod : SpaceX never IPOs. It reverse-merges into Tesla, and Elon uses the moment to consolidate power across his “core” companies. It made every neuron in my brain light up.

It’s tough to say but theaters are not making money. It’s a nice to have but not a need to have for most people especially people with families. It’s just too costly and too much of a headache for most people. Live Theater used to have places in every city at the beginning of the 20th century. Now there’s one or two in every major city. And a dozen in NYC.
I fear movie theaters are heading for this not because it’s something we want but because the economics just don’t work anymore. It’s sad.
