the fact that Sudanese people keep getting denied access & entry into countries that say they are "trying to help Sudan," but wont take in refugees, students or award winners coming for short stays tells you everything about their "help." taking in refugees is *actually* helping.

There's actually a great untapped opportunity for an elite college to curate a student body that is explicitly pro-Western civilization, anti-third wordlist, and pro-market. They would immediately distinguish themselves from their direct competitors.

The MSF report said it found 59 allegations of abuse and said 18 staff members were dismissed and barred from future employment. The report also said some of the repeated exploitation suggested potentially organized “sexual trafficking.”

war is meant to anesthetize...ppl care less b/c the numbers arent spectacular, but it isnt just the bombs & drones killing ppl: it's the lack of access to meds, to food, to shelter (esp. w/ summer coming) & clean water

as wonderful as this is (truly), the problem w/ this framing is that Sudanese ppl somehow have to "redeem" themselves b/c an unwell or diabolical person committed a crime. his identity would've been irrelevant if he was white, & these acts of kindness would be framed differently.
As Belfast burned this week, a group of women - including some from Sudan - organised to evacuate threatened families from their home. They did it without any help from the state.
