I recently discovered that I can use an LLM to automate Ghidra, and I asked it some questions about SwiftUI internals.
The results far exceeded my expectations.
This is the first task I've given an AI where it does a better job than I could.

It'd be really cool if running terminal programs could inject entries into a command palette. Imagine every TUI having access to a native command palette. (Not planning to introduce sequences to do this... yet... but this is the kind of thing I want to get to)

Command palette coming to Ghostty, implemented with native UI of course. macOS initially but GTK will follow and be part of the same tagged release, since there's already a mostly complete open PR. Almost all keybinding actions available, will be able to customize entries too.

A little late to the party, but I had to rewrite everything in SwiftUI and rework the background colors to be materials.
Still need to rethink the design, but it's fun seeing this first pass come to life!

At any Big Tech, incentives that drive promotions and performance reviews end up driving a surprisingly large amount of decisions.
Most of these incentives are impact, revenue generation at scale & savings at scale.
Fixing small issues fits none of these.

As someone who works on a 100% SwiftUI component library, I feel this so much. If I run into a bug, I have to wait a year for it to be fixed and then another year before I can drop the problematic iOS version.

Pretty much 90% of my wishes for Apple platforms dev boils down to something they will never do: ship frameworks with the apps.
Every *mistake* they do costs so much to devs cause we have to wait YEARS.
Compose has catchup and will be better than SwiftUI just bcs if that.
