I think our elders didn’t do a good job at modeling how friendship changes from adolescence/young adulthood to 30s and beyond. A lot of us think friendships are supposed to look & feel like they did when we were in high-school & college. & thats just not realistic.
I do not subscribe to “catch up” culture anymore. If we’re not actively in each others lives anymore I’ll just have to call you an acquaintance.

Idek what bar they talkin bout. been wearing white toes since 2013 though. It looks good on me and I don’t have to think too much when I get to the salon 💅🏾
I will spend the rest of my days trying free women from white toenail polish. Not that’s it’s actually ugly on all feet it’s just very inauthentic and I cannot forget the bar in rap that made every spineless girl decide that’s her favorite toe polish 🥴🤞🏿

THE OLDER I GET, THE MORE CERTAIN I AM THAT WE KNEW EXACTLY WHO WE WERE WHEN WE WERE LITTLE, AND THEN ADULTS TALKED US OUT OF IT

The older I get... the more I understand why people disappear into cooking, art, music, gardening, books and quiet lives.

Certified Pilates Instructor here. A lot of people will say that she could’ve accomplished those results faster and have a more dramatic transformation with weights - it’s true. However a lot of women don’t want to think about the science of weightlifting and planning. It’s too stressful. They just want to be told what to do. Pilates is amazing because depending on the format it can be low impact high intensity. You still burn calories and use body weight. And because these workouts aren’t stressful like HIIT, you’re way more likely to stay consistent. You’ll also get an insanely strong core. I can beat my cross country high school athlete brothers plank time. Pilates is popular for a reason. Go consistently, have a caloric deficit, and you will see results.

You literally can still eat most of the things you like & still lose weight if you had portion control.
Yall be eating big ass meal portions every meal every day and wonder why you cant lose weight when its literal common sense 😭

There is something beautiful about being able to afford the things you once considered luxuries. The perfume, the outfit, the good food…..the little extras that make life sweeter.
