Great to meet Tony Phillips again as Indian Perspectives - featuring his work alongside Jasmir Creed’s paintings - prepares to open @VictoriaGallery. I think he must be one of the first artists I ever interviewed back when I was a young features writer
Made my @northern_soul_ debut with this review of The Lieutenant of Inishmore @LivEveryPlay. It’s a website I really enjoy reading - and I got a kick out of seeing my piece among the excellent writing on there
'Cats get such a raw deal in Martin McDonagh’s bloody farce The Lieutenant of Inishmore that they’re mentioned in the show’s trigger warning.'
@lcdavis sees The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Everyman Theatre, #Liverpool.

ALT Applications open for the 2024/25 Journo Resources Fellowship
ALT What you'll get: a paid commission for the Journo Resources website and magazine. You'll be paid at least £170 and will work with a professional editor. we'll match you with a dedicated mentor who aligns with your interests. You'll get 1-2-1 calls for six months. we put together six bespoke practical sessions to give you the skills you need to take the next steps in your journalism career. You'll also get a lifetime pass to our membership, offering a supportive community and constant opportunities to upskill
ALT Need to know; open to anyone over the age of 18 looking to break into journalism. There's no upper age cut off. we do not accept applications for those currently undertaking regular paid work in journalism, but will consider applications from those looking to return to journalism after a career break. no specific qualifications are required. However, if you are still studying, you must have, at most, a year left of your studies. the scheme is virtual, however, due to the to the way the fellowship is funded, it is only available to those who are living in the UK. you must be able to undertake the whole six-month scheme
ALT our top tips; make sure the story idea is one that works for journo resources. take a look at our editorial content and what past fellows have written. we really want to hear from people from marginalised backgrounds — but please don't feel bound to writing about your identity. we want the story you idea you feel most passionate about. try to use the full space available to you in answers that have a set word count. Using most of the word count allows us to get to know you. be honest in your answers, while we do want to know what you've achieved, we also want to hear about how this experience could help you. don't panic about your written experience. A google doc of your writing is fine.
Do I know anyone that could provide a small cinema or theatre (or similar style) space for filming a project at short notice? Ideally with access to a screen - bonus if able to run a laptop through a projector in situ! Please DM if you can help.

Passing through Milton Keynes on my train to London and remembering how some members of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture team jumped off at the station when heading to the capital to hand in the bid and did a happy dance because Milton Keynes had dropped out of the running
