This isn’t very legacy, quite the opposite, but I’m very impressed by just how much Microsoft improved Windows Update performance in 24H2. They claim a ~40% speed improvement! Now, if only they would backport this to Windows 7 🥲 techcommunity.microsoft.com/…

Windows Embedded 7 extended security updates (ESU) support has fully ended. If you’re running regular 32-bit Windows 7, no more updates will be available for your OS. 64-bit Windows 7 may still be able to install ESU updates from Windows Server 2008 R2.
