Living in LA, I’ve lived in many a neighborhood in which police helicopters circle all day and they don’t do anything except be loud an annoying. You know what improved the morale and safety of my neighborhood in less than two weeks? A new taco stand. I’m 1000% serious.

Last night, after nearly 6 anxious months of being told "the company will have a response for you shortly," my employer, @latimes, finally handed me a decision on the pay discrimination claim I filed through my union.

Recently I've been seeing more news stories about how Vietnamese Americans as the largest AsianAm group in support of Trump, which is true, bc thru misinformation, the GOP and right have benefited and preyed on the trauma of Vietnamese refugees.

As a first-gen Vietnamese American, I have always wondered what it was like for first-gen Cuban Americans, whose family and relatives were also refugees and escaped communism. This whole thread is 100% true for Viet Americans:

Don’t come at me with your anti-union dribble. Uber & Lyft didn’t spend $200m talking about unions, they spent it lying about worker protections (120% min wage /healthcare/ flexibility) Exit polls said 40% who voted yes thought it gave drivers a living wage. It doesn’t.
