I just released LSP v1.30, which adds an ADPCM compression option to drastically reduce MOD file size in executables or on disk. As a bonus, no changes to your workflow are required. More details are available in the GitHub README. #amiga #demoscene github.com/arnaud-carre/LSPl…

I’m tired of all these threads debating the “safety” of programming languages. If you write code without bugs, you’ll be safe—no matter which programming language you use.

To me, this tiny device is the climax of engineering
Inside a TO-18. metal encapsulated transistor  legendary 2N2222 transistor. The transistor is actually a small silicon cube with wires connecting 3 terminals, being one of them to the metal body.

Very nice video about a SDF engine. The amount of different tech involved in order to render very large and dynamic SDF world, with any amount of SDF primitives , including physics, is crazy!
I just released my video about the engine (and game) I've been working on. The engine is based on dynamic SDFs, and the video describes how it works and what it makes possible. Link in the reply! This is my first YouTube video and it took forever - please repost!

The graal trophy for any demoscener! Our second Meteoriks! 2016: "best low end demo" for "We Were @" 2024: "Outstanding Technical Achievement" for "Cycle-Op" Amiga demo As a lifelong CPU cycle optimization nerd, this one means a lot to me! Thanks @meteoriks ! #demoscene

Here is L-Packer, my new Atari & Amiga executable compressor! Optimized for 64K-style demos, it balances high compression ratios with efficient decompression. Feedback and testing are welcome! More details here github.com/arnaud-carre/L-Pa… #demoscene #amiga #atari

1 day estimated to delete 216GiB on a fast PC! I hate NTFS... If my 40 years AMSTRAD CPC supported large disk, it would have take few cycles (because it just write 0xe5 char on the directory name first char :) )

I wish I could have a very simple filesystem in a dedicated NTFS disk. Like, no journaling, no file permissions etc. But very fast delete. Could be awesome for temp building directories

Use AI to train compressors on your specific data. Awesome!

OpenZL - outperforms zstd, xz, gzip, and Blosc on multiple real-world datasets with 10x (!!!) speed improvement Another huge win when computations represented in a form of graph (DAG) Meta / OpenZL: A Novel Data Compression Framework It's not a new algorithm. It’s a new architecture for composing existing algorithms. Its power comes from the graph abstraction, automatic training, and self-describing format that let you quickly build specialized compressors for different data types without rewriting or deploying new decoders.
