Announcing Rolls, the package registry for Oite (oy-tee). Discover, publish, and manage packages with a single command. Rolls libs coming soon along with unroll, the ultimate package manager. registry.oite.org Yes! Script was renamed to Oite, announcement coming later this week.
RELEASE DAY After years of starting, killing, restarting, and refining, I finally realised a dream: operating JavaScript at the low level. And I'm giving it to the world! Script compiles JavaScript and TypeScript to native machine code, without garbage collection, featuring: Rust-inspired ownership & borrow checking Native compilation via LLVM & Cranelift Full TypeScript syntax with type inference Zero-overhead abstractions & standalone binaries It compiles down to SSA-based IR and produces self-contained executables that run with native performance. As a result, we finally have a language that writes like JS but runs like Rust!

I wanted to test Claude’s new /loop feature to see how good it actually is. Since I don’t have an active project using coding agents right now, I decided to have it build a AI slop version of Paxel. The result is completely free, and you have full flexibility: Run it on AI labs servers (using API tokens) Or use self-host AI You can fork it, tweak it, and play around with it as much as you want. Check it out: github.com/jucasoliveira/pax…

‼️🚨 A new npm supply-chain attack compromised 57 packages across over 286 malicious versions in under 2 hours. The attackers used self-replicating malware, a new version of the Miasma worm, which also used evasion techniques to stay under the radar. The payload targets CI/CD and developer credentials, including GitHub Actions secrets, cloud credentials, Vault tokens, SSH keys, npm and GitHub tokens, and password-manager stores. This variant also injects AI coding assistant config files at `.claude`, `.cursor`, `.gemini`, and `.vscode` paths, a separate persistence and repo-poisoning angle.

Less than 24 hours, this project has 15k stars, 2k forks , 126 PRS and 105 issues. Imagine you're Pewdiepie, and you just want to share something cool you made, and now you're flooded with vibe coded requests Its really challenging to have a OSS nowadays with this level of noise.

I dare say @claudeai code and most other coding LLMs struggle with any database that isn't PostgreSQL or another SQL database. With NoSQL databases, LLMs tend to cheat, hallucinate, and mess things up.

After a few days heads down working on it, I've finally have a gameplay loop against an AI. Ive added a few behaviours to the bot: Which type of cards it preferred to play, which cards to discard to try create a good hand , which position to play the cards. Create a few variants, from a dummy put bigger cards in sequence to a more play thoughtful agent. And now its working! #Unity #IndieDev #GameDev #IndieGame #MadeWithUnity #TradingCardGame #Roguelike @unity

Worked even more on card placement, card movement, selection , and deployment. Now its time to work on combat engine ... long process of coding ahead #Unity #IndieDev #GameDev #IndieGame #MadeWithUnity #TradingCardGame #Roguelike @unity

Man you basically have to teach LLM how to code ….
A lot of people are arguing that HTML burns more tokens than markdown. It's true but you can save at least 40% by externalizing the CSS to a template with <link rel="stylesheet" href="./styles.css">. This style.css is your formatting so the LLM will never output CSS again. I tested on a 12116 token HTML article and it dropped to 6,723 tokens so -44%! You'll have this: <div class="card"> <span class="badge">External CSS</span> <h1>Hello, world.</h1> <p>...</p> </div> Instead of this: <style> .card { /* 20 lines */ } .badge { /* 12 lines */ } h1 { /* 8 lines */ } /* ...and ~100 more */ </style> <div class="card">...</div>

They are so heavily invested in AI that the announcement itself was written by one.
This is an email I sent earlier today to all employees at Coinbase: Team, Today I’ve made the difficult decision to reduce the size of Coinbase by ~14%. I want to walk you through why we're doing this now, what it means for those affected, and how this positions us for the future. Why now Two forces are converging at the same time. We need to be front footed to respond to both. First, the market. Coinbase is well-capitalized, has diversified revenue streams, and is well-positioned to weather any storm. Crypto is also on the verge of the next wave of adoption, with stablecoins, prediction markets, tokenization, and more taking off. However, our business is still volatile from quarter to quarter. While we've managed through that cyclicality many times before and come out stronger on the other side, we’re currently in a down market and need to adjust our cost structure now so that we emerge from this period leaner, faster, and more efficient for our next phase of growth. Second, AI is changing how we work. Over the past year, I’ve watched engineers use AI to ship in days what used to take a team weeks. Non-technical teams are now shipping production code and many of our workflows are being automated. The pace of what's possible with a small, focused team has changed dramatically, and it's accelerating every day. All of this has led us to an inflection point, not just for Coinbase, but for every company. The biggest risk now is not taking action. We are adjusting early and deliberately to rebuild Coinbase to be lean, fast, and AI-native. We need to return to the speed and focus of our startup founding, with AI at our core. What this means To get there, we are not just reducing headcount and cutting costs, we’re fundamentally changing how we operate: rebuilding Coinbase as an intelligence, with humans around the edge aligning it. What does this mean in practice? - Fewer layers, faster decisions: We are flattening our org structure to 5 layers max below CEO/COO. Layers slow things down and create coordination tax. The future is small, high context teams that can move quickly. Leaders will own much more, with as many as 15 direct reports. Fewer layers also means a leaner cost structure that is built to perform through all market cycles. - No pure managers: Every leader at Coinbase must also be a strong and active individual contributor. Managers should be like player-coaches, getting their hands dirty alongside their teams. - AI-native pods: We’ll be concentrating around AI-native talent who can manage fleets of agents to drive outsized impact. We’ll also be experimenting with reduced pod sizes, including “one person teams” with engineers, designers, and product managers all in one role. In short: AI is bringing a profound shift in how companies operate, and we’re reshaping Coinbase to lead in this new era. This is a new way of working, and we need to leverage AI across every facet of our jobs. To those who are affected I know there are real people behind these decisions — talented colleagues who have poured themselves into this company and our mission. To those of you who will be leaving: thank you. You’ve helped build Coinbase into what it is today, and I am sincerely grateful for everything you've done. All impacted team members will receive an email to their personal account in the next hour with more information, and an invitation to meet with an HRBP and a senior leader in your organization. Coinbase system access has been removed today. I know this feels sudden and harsh, but it is the only responsible choice given our duty to protect customer information. To those affected, we will be providing a comprehensive package to support you through this transition. US employees will receive a minimum of 16 weeks base pay (plus 2 weeks per year worked), their next equity vest, and 6 months of COBRA. Employees on a work visa will get extra transition support. Those outside of the US will receive similar support, based on local factors and subject to any consultation requirements. Coinbase prides itself on talent density. Our employees are among the most talented people in the world, and I have no doubt that your skills and experience will be highly sought after as you pursue your next chapters. How we move forward To the team that is staying, I know this is a difficult day. We’re saying goodbye to colleagues and friends you've been in the trenches with. But here’s what I want you to know as we move forward together: Over the past 13 years, we have weathered four crypto winters, gone public, and built the most trusted platform in our industry. We’ve made it this far by making hard decisions and by always staying focused on our mission. This time will be no different – nothing has changed about the long term outlook of our company or industry. And most importantly, our mission has never been more important for the world. Increasing economic freedom requires a new financial system, and we’re building it. The Coinbase that emerges from this will be more capable than ever to achieve our mission. Brian

Resource experimentation. After finished the Win condition of the game , I've started exploring resource gathering and how players could get the resources to play cards without using cards for it. The reason is to avoid dead draws, where when user has enough resources and then will draw yet another resource. Im experimenting with terrain harvesting, but needs to balance it to allow players to have enough resources to play their cards. #Unity #IndieDev #GameDev #IndieGame #MadeWithUnity #TradingCardGame #Roguelike #HollowCrown @unity

If you asked me 10 years ago, I'd press the red button. Confidently, unapologetically, and then write a massive thread about it. I would say the blue button asks you to subordinate your survival to a group outcome, and that self-sacrifice is not a virtue. I truly believed altruism didn't exist, that human beings are essentially selfish. Today I think pressing red is only rational if you assume the worst about everyone else, as you are in a prison with only the worst human beings you can possibly imagine. It requires a cynical view of humanity to function. For me, today, I understand humans are fundamentally social creatures because they can only achieve their full potential within a community, we need each other to function. And virtue only makes sense in relation to other people. You can't be just alone on an island. No one would choose to live without friends, even if they had everything else. Pressing red would be a failure of justice and courage to the people you hold dear. I have a moral duty to take care of my family, and in this moment, not knowing what they would press, I'd press blue without a doubt.

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

100%! And the first place that will do that will be the EU , because it’s easier to lobby for a regulation there than in the US
By 2027 Dario will claim it's too dangerous to have humans hand produce code And guess who's product is selling the shovel?
