Everytime I pass through immigration smart gates in Dubai - I am both amazed and little spooked.
I remove my glasses, stare at a camera, it prints my name and opens the gate. No scanning my passport or any other ID at the smart gate.

After years of using only card/wallet for Taxi rides. I am now considering switching the default to cash. All this while I was not paying attention when someone would request for cash instead of card/wallet.
Which brings us to the NBFC-AA - The so called answer to consented data flows. NBFC-AA push without a privacy bill seems to have all the ingredients of a data disaster. The consent here seems more about the intermediary liability cover rather than user rights.
