Replying to @sarahsholder
@sarahsholder and I spoke with activists on how to combat anti-Asian hate & violence, and then @arielabergriger turned our interviews into a wonderful illustrated piece: bloomberg.com/news/features/…

As AZ curbs homebuilding to conserve water, some suburbs have turned to the private water market so they can continue to grow. Competition is pushing up prices, rewarding water speculators. By @leslieatlarge @Jeremy_CF_Lin @linpoonsays / FREE to read bloomberg.com/graphics/2023-…

Climate-driven wildfire smoke is another California environmental trend that's gone nationwide, unfortunately in this case. @linpoonsays and I write about lessons learned on the West Coast that could help the East Coast deal with orange skies. @climate bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Can confirm what @sarahsholder and @linpoonsays report: Crystal City is still visibly holding its breath for Amazon HQ2 to make its landing. Complete with the ubiquitous tech campus Adirondack chairs floating in no man’s land

I don’t have the right words to say except that my heart hurts for the victims and their families. My parents are behind me right now furiously cooking away; LNY means a lot to our community and it’s been taken from so many people last night in Monterey Park (and beyond).

When I visited LA years ago, a friend and her family graciously offered to let me stay at their home in San Gabriel Valley. Their neighborhood was a 10-min drive from Monterey Park, and it was amazing. Loved the food and the people.

The most bitter Christmas story I've written and am very proud of it 😆
Why do #Christmas movies hate cities so much? “The irony, of course, is that these movies that portray the cruel hustle of big cities and the virtues of small-town life are filmed in big cities that get high marks for livability.” Via @linpoonsays @citylab bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Our built environment is a major contributor to the climate crisis. Japan's minka, wooden homes designed like an interlocking puzzle without nails or screws, offer a blueprint for a more sustainable future. A 🧵on my latest for @climate and @CityLab bloomberg.com/news/features/…
