Mission accomplished✔️🎓 I recently defended my PhD thesis! Thanks a lot to my PhD supervisor Nicolas Thomä, my committee members Lori Passmore and Dirk Schübeler, the lab members and all the people who contributed during the journey!🎉🧬 @LabThoma@lapassmore@SchubelerLab
Huge congratulations to @lisastoos_ on successfully defending her PhD! Her work uncovered how a special group of proteins, called bHLH transcription factors, manage to bind DNA even when it’s all tightly wrapped up 🧬
Wouldn’t it be great to test how individual transcription factors engage with their motif in the nucleus? We tried exactly that in a study lead by Ralph (@RalphSGrand) and Marco (@marco_heffler) now out in Molecular Cell authors.elsevier.com/sd/arti…. 1/7
I'm excited to share that I received a poster prize at the EMBL Transcription and Chromatin conference! Grateful for the opportunity and recognition!☺️ #EMBL2024
Excited to share our latest preprint. Lead by Mario (@marioiurlaro) and Francesca we deleted the main subcomplexes of the ISWI remodeler family. Key finding is that NURF (via BPTF) is required for creating open chromatin around CTCF sites.

How about some structural circadian biology to end the week? @partchlab @labthoma@lisastoos_ demonstrate how CLOCK:BMAL1 binds DNA in the context of histones, and show some rather elegant and surprising molecular interactions:

Our latest paper exploring how MYC-MAX and CLOCK-BMAL1 engage with chromatinized E-boxes is out @Nature: rdcu.be/df8qh. We thank all the collaborators for their valuable contributions! @jsmenet @partchlab @Beatfierz@SchubelerLab@johannes_zuber, Becker lab & Liu lab
