How does online misogyny become a catalyst for real-world violence?
In āEmergency Meeting 63ā, Dr Elizabeth Pearson @lizzypearson from the Department of Law and Criminology, Royal Holloway, University of London @RHUL_Law analyses Andrew Tateās postāSouthport broadcast to show how extreme misogyny operates as both a gateway and an organising principle for contemporary extremism.
Drawing on critical discourse analysis, the article demonstrates how misogynist, far-right, and accelerationist narratives are strategically combined to normalise violent imaginaries, emotionally script male grievance, and mobilise youth towards hate crime.

So few convictions for rape - the sentencing matters.
Filming is an aggravating factor and too common as an attempt to add extra pain.
Rape victims are being let down time and time again.

@hugorifkind just listening to interesting question of tone & language. Degradation of formal tone important to populist idea of āauthenticityā. Elites canāt be trusted as they āfakeā a tone/language - which is actually just diplomacy & political culture.
I donāt understand this. Fiona accused Rachel. They know Fiona was a traitor. They basically therefore know Rachel is a traitor. Yet Rachel is invisible in the discussions .. #TheTraitors
