I wish Americans would realize that general strikes would do more in a few days than the last half century of "protest" marches combined.
BREAKING: “October 3 will be a day of strike, with hundreds of initiatives in different Italian cities in support of the Global Sumud Flotilla, of peace, and to reaffirm international law,” CGIL, Italy’s largest trade union declares.
CGIL said the strike was called in compliance with Law No. 146, “which provides for the possibility of proclaiming an immediate strike, without prior notice, when the protection of Italian citizens, at home or abroad, as well as the safeguarding of the fundamental principles on which the Republic is founded—peace, human rights, and respect for international obligations—are at stake.”
“This is precisely the case with the aggression against the citizens, workers, and volunteers aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla engaged in a humanitarian action,” they added in a statement on X.
