Check out our newest paper on partitioning DOM uptake in #sponges! In sponges with few microbial symbionts, host cells drive DOM uptake, while microbes mop up waste products @SpongeLoop @JoelleSprong @lnrix x.com/MEPS_IR/status/1418465…

Host versus microbial symbiont uptake of dissolved organic matter (DOM) was quantified in two Caribbean sponges. Authors found that sponge cells are predominantly responsible for DOM uptake, while symbiotic microbes recycle the waste-products of the host.➡️bit.ly/meps_670_1

exciting new work in @PNASNews pnas.org/content/118/5/e2022… in a nutshell 'corals bleach before they pale': corals starve before zoox r gone cos sugars come no more, putting long-held beliefs upside down. Shouts to Nils R who saw it through from the start of his PhD @unikonstanz

Please RT this needs visibility. Support your taxonomist! 👇
"Zootaxa with no 2019 based Impact Factor (excluded due to an excessive concentration of self-citations)" by Marcin Kaminski Well, how to start commenting this? Go taxonomy! They say "Publish taxonomic papers in your own low impact journals." And then... boom! No impact at all.
