President Truman was famously cash strapped after leaving office yet he rejected lucrative lobbying, speaking, or corporate board seat offers because he believed that public office shouldn't be a private money machine. We no longer live in this version of America.

Why does it just feel like Iran is going to get one of our jets somehow? It could be a landed F-15, it could be a fuel tanker, it can even be an F-35. Just feels like we might get too comfortable with the routine and they'll sniped one of our jets.

U.S. Central Command is aware of the loss of a U.S. KC-135 refueling aircraft. The incident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, and rescue efforts are ongoing. Two aircraft were involved in the incident. One of the aircraft went down in western Iraq, and the second landed safely. This was not due to hostile fire or friendly fire. I'm pretty sure that all those countries realize that American bases near China are going to be destroyed in the opening salvo of war by saturation attacks. We don't have reliable enough defenses against a China scale saturation attack. x.com/longstayed/status/2026…

There's no counter against saturation attacks of drones missiles. Especially when drones have optical sensors AI. You can't do anything when 1000's of these are flying at you. Not EW, not lasers, no intereceptors, nothing.

And our carriers won't fare better, they are nearly defenseless against saturation attacks if they remain near China's coast. But the further away they move, they less effective they'll be in projecting power onto China. x.com/longstayed/status/2025…

American Carrier Strike Groups are still almost defenseless against underwater saturation attacks. We can soft/hard kill maybe around 20-50 torpedoes before we just run out of ammo/decoys. Torpedoes can be cheaply launched from mass produced UUV or flying drones as well.

A tale of two countries: America is spending ~$1 billion per day on the Iran war. China can spend the same amount on solar panels that produce the energy equivalent of ~1.7 million barrels of oil per year. So if leaks about Trump expecting ~100 days of war is correct, this

Spending money on war is almost never the best ROI unless your sovereignty is truly at stake especially for China who can freeload off America's military spending that keeps the sea lanes open.

So keep this in mind if you ever wonder why China refuses to get into military alliances, fight proxy wars, or build military bases all over the world. They almost always get better returns by investing the money peacefully.

A lot of people are confused about why China doesn't defend its "allies" Iran and Venezeula. Doesn't China depend on cheap oil from them? Wouldn't losing access to their oil devastate China's economy and cripple any capacity for military power projection? Here's the reasons why:

And if America can militarily prevent oil from getting shipped to China, those sources were never going to be available during wartime. Losing Iran/Venezuela now changes very little for China in the event of war. They'd in the same position anyway.

But these wars do have the potential to backfire on America. Illegal use of force erodes America's moral authority and drives other countries to China. Without a permanent regime change, there's no guarantee Iran and Venezuela wouldn't return to being anti-American.
