🎂 sharp, the open source @nodejs image processing library I created way back in 2013, will turn 9 years old later this week. A big thank you to Google @ChromiumDev for their rather timely birthday present, which sees it included in the 2022 list of software to receive funding.

Node.js 12 reaches EOL this week. When upgrading, please watch out for a bug in npm 8 that can corrupt package-lock.json files. This affects esbuild, sharp and other packages providing prebuilt binaries.
Possible workaround: "npx fix-has-install-script"

Christopher Alexander's "Cascade of Roofs" pattern will shelter me always. His 1977 book "A Pattern Language: Towns, Buildings, Construction" will help you turn complexity into simplicity. Having only read two so far, I hope one day to fully comprehend his "Nature of Order" opus.

Thank you very much to the team at @googlechrome for your 💰 $10000 💰donation to libvips.
As well as funding internships, we'll be redistributing some of this money to smaller, less well-known dependencies upon which libvips is built to help ensure their continued maintenance.
