I have seen various forms of this argument from the Milwaukee Bros. It doesn't make sense.
They put this kinda stuff out there getting real mad that all of the tax revenue generated by people and businesses in Milwaukee County doesn't go to Milwaukee County Government. But they ignore all the other government entities in Milwaukee County that the state supports (like all the municipalities, school districts, UW-Milwaukee), they ignore other state costs like medicaid costs that go to cover Milwaukee County residents, they ignore the costs state taxpayers agreed to pay to build and renovate stadiums for the Bucks and the Brewers, they ignore the costs to incarcerate violent criminals from Milwaukee in state prisons, etc.
Milwaukee County is a great place, and a very important part of Wisconsin. It is absolutely an economic engine for the state. but acting like the state just ignores Milwaukee County is utter nonsense from the "Milwaukee can never do anything wrong, ever" crowd.
Would you prefer it if Milwaukee stopped subsidizing the state?
