Some awesome work being done here by @RebeccaFurdek!
🚨 Did you know every gallon of milk you buy currently funds extreme climate policies that drive dairy farmers out of business? Like thousands nationwide, three Wisconsin dairy producers are subject to mandatory federal “Checkoff” fees, fees legally restricted to milk advertising, but are now suing the USDA because those funds are being illegally diverted to activist climate ESG groups. Our govt shouldn’t decide which perspectives on sex/gender identity are “acceptable” when someone seeks out talk therapy. Gov. Evers insists on ignoring a SCOTUS ruling and silencing faith-based views, but @WILawLiberty has filed a lawsuit and a court will have the final say.

The Wisconsin Dentistry Examining Board recently proposed a rule that could violate dentists’ First Amendment speech rights by letting the American Dental Association have final say over which dentists can speak certain words in their advertisements. Similar regulations in other states have already been deemed a First Amendment violation. WILL submitted a public comment letting the Board know their proposed rule needs to be dropped or redrafted to comply with the First Amendment. It’s never too early to get involved in the rulemaking process to stop a bad rule before it ever takes effect. Read more below.

When looking at the school staffing data in Wisconsin, it's no surprise that many charter schools are near the top in having the fewest staff per student. These schools have $1000s less per kid & often get better results by focusing on outcomes instead of growing bureaucracy.

Districts in Wisconsin won’t have this opportunity because @GovEvers is afraid private school students might benefit as well.
Come January, there's a new source of funding for districts who want it. We're doing a 30-Min Webinar on how districts can tap federal tax credit scholarships Tues. June 2 at 1pm ET / 10am PT Register here: georgetown.zoom.us/webinar/r…

Here's the legislation proposed in Wisconsin yesterday purporting to impose a 100% tax on any amounts Wisconsinites may receive from the federal anti weaponization fund. Regardless of whether you like that fund or not, this legislation is a bill of attainder. It is unconstitutional under both the United States and Wisconsin Constituitons. A bill of attainder is a law that applies to a specific group of people (here, anti weaponization fund recipients), and then punishes that group (here, with a 100% tax) without the opportunity for a trial (or literally any due process at all). This is obviously a political gimmick... but a very dangerous one. Using the power of government to target and punish a specific group of people just because you dont like them is abhorrent to our republic. As Madison wrote in Federalist 44: "Bills of attainder . . . are contrary to the first principles of the social compact, and to every principle of sound legislation."

Wild stuff, and a great report from the @ReformingGovt team.
In the past six years Wisconsin public schools have hired 10-times MORE non teachers than classroom teachers. And yet schools want to cut art and music classes because they are not 'fully funded.' @ReformingGovt has a must read report out. wispolitics.com/2026/institu…

Hi. This is almost certainly an unconstitutional bill of attainder under both the federal and state constitutions.
We can't stand by while Trump hands out taxpayer dollars to January 6 rioters. Wisconsin should tax 100% of any Trump slush fund payments. Tom Tiffany’s insurrectionist buddies won’t get away with taxpayer-funded handouts in Wisconsin.

Imagine leaving your home in “Bad Ax County” Wisconsin to fight in the Civil War, and returning home years later to find out they changed the name to “Vernon County” while you were gone. 1862 Laws of Wisconsin, Ch. 137:

First, you withheld SNAP data, now you're supporting this. If you had nothing to hide, you wouldn’t be withholding information. It only makes Wisconsinites trust you less.
The Trump Administration only wants this info so they can prevent eligible Wisconsinites from voting, sow doubt in our secure elections, make it harder for our clerks and administrators to do their jobs, and claim there's fraud when they lose elections. This is great news.

To further illustrate how absurd the analysis is, below is the state aid provided to MKE County school districts. It's over $1 billion. This aid alone accounts for almost half of the claimed contribution of MKE to the state & doesn't include aid to other entities in the county.
I have seen various forms of this argument from the Milwaukee Bros. It doesn't make sense. They put this kinda stuff out there getting real mad that all of the tax revenue generated by people and businesses in Milwaukee County doesn't go to Milwaukee County Government. But they ignore all the other government entities in Milwaukee County that the state supports (like all the municipalities, school districts, UW-Milwaukee), they ignore other state costs like medicaid costs that go to cover Milwaukee County residents, they ignore the costs state taxpayers agreed to pay to build and renovate stadiums for the Bucks and the Brewers, they ignore the costs to incarcerate violent criminals from Milwaukee in state prisons, etc. Milwaukee County is a great place, and a very important part of Wisconsin. It is absolutely an economic engine for the state. but acting like the state just ignores Milwaukee County is utter nonsense from the "Milwaukee can never do anything wrong, ever" crowd.

Would you prefer it if Milwaukee stopped subsidizing the state?
