I have humbled myself to ask a family member I love for help and she was like *sure I’m happy to help you I love you*. As a woman who has pathologically avoided asking for help for 40 years I’m delighted but also horrified to discover the earth didn’t actually open up and swallow me whole as punishment for not being perfect. As the official family *one who fixes*, I am astonished to discover I can also have things that need fixing. She laughed when I called her and said that must be fun for someone who would rather slit her own throat than be a mere human. Indeed. I’ve survived this dark but pleasant hour. I am not alone at the top of the matriarchy of my own mind. I have company. She said she could come to me for anything. A kidney. ANYTHING. I said of course. She’s like so let me love you back. Well fuck that was too easy.

I can’t stop thinking about this.
Never assume competence in someone else when your own life is on the line. The world is full of people with an IQ of 72 who are somehow responsible for your life but they cannot be bothered to regularly wash their own underpants. Their one job was safely throwing you off a bridge and not a single person thought to visually check to see if she was tethered to anything before hurling her into outer space. THIS WAS THEIR ENTIRE JOB. Three men, her man filming, and the poor woman who died NONE OF THEM LOOKED. It’s like a glitch in the matrix. I didn’t even think it was real. Never pay anyone to subject you to the ultimate law of gravity without assessing their ability to do so safely.
