We put in the formal service request yesterday as advised and were told someone would help. Called operator to provide more detail and she was adamant they could not help.

If you are digging her doctors out, can’t you help her access her spot? We receive zero assistance from the government to manage the life of our profoundly disabled child. In this extreme event, we are asking for assistance, or at least to borrow a plow.

This week, @SecKennedy approved adding Duchenne muscular dystrophy and metachromatic leukodystrophy to the Recommended Uniform Screening Panel for newborns, allowing earlier treatment and more hope for families.

Another weeks on the books in the Kafkaesque world of dealing with a severely developmentally disabled child and @MCPS - at her IEP meeting this week, the school team told us they think Char can count to 20. If we don’t laugh, we’ll cry 😂😂😂

Clarification for those who don’t deal with this every day - her head is shaved as she started pulling out her hair again. She’s on a leotard as she eats clothing that is any looser, and she had a sports bra over the leotard so she doesn’t rip it - and her diaper - off.
