Exactly. Making people feel ashamed for wanting to be in community with other people is cruel. I will reiterate that writing for yourself should guide writing what you like, not what will please readers, but wanting to be treated as part of community is so human. Itβs so human.
there is absolutely an element of needing to write for yourself but fic writers post and share as part of being in the community and being disappointed when something you worked hard on doesn't get much of a response is human and not deserving of a 'seek therapy' comment
