It’s not about “simping” for
@elonmusk or
@charliekirk11. It’s about calling out disinformation & red-tagging that insult grieving Filipinos & dishonors our great national hero, Lapu-Lapu. I come from a family of patriots, heroes & heroines: Doña Marcela Mariño Agoncillo,
#MotherofPhilippineFlag, & Don Felipe Agoncillo, First Diplomat who stood up to the US & Spain for our independence. I was likened to our great ancestor, Lola Celay, a Freedom Fighter. To be likened to a traitor - stopping Lapu-Lapu from killing Magellan - is a grave insult, not just to me but to all those who had fought for freedom & to their descendants.
So yes, this matters. Whether or not Charlie or Elon “cared”, many Filipinos cared about Kirk’s message of faith & civil debate. My son cared & it inspired him so to even better himself!
Mourning a fellow believer is not betrayal - it’s part of our culture. Not “simping". it’s standing up for Truth & Respect. 🤍
If defending Filipinos from being mocked for mourning is “simping,” then maybe we need more of it, not less.
We've the right to our own beliefs & brains to DYOR, without fear of being labeled “traitors” “simps.” Your rights end where ours begin.
You don’t want to be labeled this or that; we don't want to have pronouns forced on us, too, coz we also hold the right to our beliefs.
Red-tagging is dangerous. please don’t do the thinking for all of us.
I teach my kids how to think, not what to think. See the difference?
That’s what Charlie Kirk was all about - being a sounding board, letting the youth speak. Some thought that by silencing the messenger, the debates would die. Instead, they’ve only amplified them.
That’s why this matters to me as a mother. My son’s love for motivational speakers, even controversial ones, led him to weigh ideas with logic & faith, & lots'a patience.
Looking back to our conversation, seeing him how he'd taken great control over his emotions, temperament, tolerance for differing opinions but still able to fight & stand for his, my son has now seen for himself what he really wanted, what God had wanted him to be. I couldn't stop the tears. He knew he was born for a great purpose, he said so himself. So, are they gonna kill the Charlie in him, all the Charlies?
"Mom, I had never had a single (temper) tantrum in my toddlerhood."
And it hit me. I'd been telling them that how they never had any "episodes" as toddlers. Now he's saying back my words to me.
"BabySigning: The Art of Early Communication"
He was right! He & his baby sister had never ever thrown a fit as preverbal babysigners. They learned the Art of Early Communication as BabySigners long before they learned to say their first word. They signed before they could talk, would just look up at me & smile with that knowing smile every time a cousin or playmate would be crying, wailing, shouting helplessly in frustration at the top of their lungs, throwing a fit lying on the ground/floor coz that was the only way they knew how to communicate.
"Why Cry When You Can Sign?"
My kids had broken that myth, more like mislabel, stereotyping of preverbal toddlers as the "Terrible Twos." They talked with their hands, were well-adjusted kids. It's like there was no baby or kid in our house as there wouldn't be any shouting or crying. Laughter, singing, kidding around, discussions, oral reports, lots of them!
"To Debate, or Not To Debate," that was all
@charliekirk11 had wanted.
His words: "We do not have to go to blows and bullets." Let that sink in.
Looking at it, it's like young adults & the adults "throwing tantrums."
Why?
Is that what we wanna teach our children?
Here's where the world is lacking:
H - Hormones of Love (Oxytocin)
U - Upbringing with Love
M - Maternal Instincts Preserved
A - Against Civilization Collapse
N - Now
I - It
T - Takes
Y - You
We have even yet to reach Singularity - Humans & AI, & mook, Humans themselves are wiping each other out. What are we teaching AI?
